The 350-Charge Battery Stress Test
BYD put a Yangwang U7 through 30,000 kilometres of high-speed driving in nine days, including 350 ultra-fast charging sessions in hot weather. The deliberately extreme endurance test was designed to answer a simple consumer question: does rapid charging damage an EV battery?
Why it worked: It answered a hot consumer fear with an audacious, time-bound torture test and a hard number (98.7% capacity) from a “random” showroom car.
The lesson: Consider staging a transparent, extreme stress test that mirrors a common anxiety, then publish one clear metric that resolves it.
