EV Speed Awareness Survey

PR Campaign
Thursday 25th June, 2026

Road-safety tech brand Ooono commissioned a survey of 1,000 UK motorists highlighting that nearly half of EV owners struggle to judge speed due to instant torque and silent motors, and used the findings to argue many EVs lack built-in speed-camera alerts — generating media coverage about safety and driver awareness.

Why it worked: It reframed EV performance as a safety blind spot using fresh, quantified stats and a built-in-solution angle (missing speed-camera alerts).

The lesson: Consider fielding a quick, nationally weighted poll that exposes an unnoticed risk, then pair it with a simple fix your product enables.

Where does the data come from?

Finchling is a news monitoring tool that analyses lots of news from across the internet.

Does this track sponsored posts, or is it earned media only?

It's built to only track earned media - we use AI to filter out anything that we think is a sponsored placement.

What does "ranked by coverage" mean?

It's the number of articles. Simple as that. We're not weighting by outlet size or reach - just raw volume. The campaigns at the top are the ones generating the most stories right now.
