iSelect analysed UK cities using theft rates, working-from-home levels, and parcel-theft search behaviour to create a parcel theft risk index that named Manchester the UK’s parcel theft capital and ranked other cities by risk score to generate press coverage about ‘porch piracy’.

Why it worked: It weaponised a simple city league table with a shaming superlative, backed by three-data-point triangulation and a clear #1 villain.

The lesson: Consider ranking locations with a blunt, media-friendly superlative using triangulated public data and search behavior to crown a surprising winner.
