Robson’s Reflector Stargazing Launch
Kielder Observatory partnered with the Twice Brewed Inn and local celebrity Robson Green to install a named reflective telescope, “Robson’s Reflector,” and open a combined planetarium/observatory stargazing experience at the inn on 31 May to draw visitors to Northumberland’s Dark Sky Park.
Why it worked: A hard opening date plus a named local-celeb telescope created a place-specific news peg and easy headline journalists could run now.
The lesson: Consider tying a launch to a fixed date and naming the asset after a recognizable local figure to hand journalists a headline.
