Time Out partnered with Intrepid Travel to publish a global ranking of the best cities for art and culture in 2026, based on a survey of over 24,000 city-dwellers; the resulting list spotlights cities (including São Paulo and Guadalajara) to generate media coverage and travel interest.

Why it worked: A massive, fresh 24,000-person survey plus a clear global ranking created a timely, argue-about-it leaderboard journalists can’t resist.

The lesson: Consider fielding a large, credible poll that crowns unexpected winners in a ranked list, then pitch local angles for each city.
