Sanxenxo’s Giant Tortilla
Sanxenxo and El Huevo de la Abuela cooked a claimed world-record tortilla using 17,000 eggs, 1,700 kilos of potatoes and a six-metre pan. Seventy-two people and a 75-tonne crane helped make 10,000 portions, which were sold for charity during the town’s onion fair.
Why it worked: It piggybacked a tangible world-record attempt with outrageous, countable scale and charity payoff—great visuals, local pride, and easy headlines.
The lesson: Consider staging a measurable, record-chasing stunt with oversized tools and a donation hook to guarantee photos, numbers, and news.
