Sauna Theatre at Edinburgh Fringe
Therme Manchester supported Sauna Theatre, a purpose-built sauna arts venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The venue combined theatre, comedy, music and literature with Aufguss, a guided sauna ritual involving heat, essential oils, movement and performance, giving the brand a novel way to introduce sauna culture to British audiences.
Why it worked: It hijacked the Fringe news cycle with a first-of-its-kind, 80-seat “sauna theatre” that fused wellness ritual with live performance.
The lesson: Consider launching a pop-up “first in the country” format that merges two unlikely behaviors and debuts at a peak cultural tentpole.
