Houndstooth Tattoo teamed up with Pennsylvania Bat Rescue and local zookeepers for a bat-themed flash-tattoo fundraiser. Visitors could get limited tattoo designs while raising money for the specialist charity and meeting rescued bats, turning an ordinary tattoo appointment into a playful conservation fundraiser.

Why it worked: It fused a visually irresistible action (limited flash tattoos) with a counter-narrative datapoint (bats reduce infant mortality via pesticide use), creating urgency and local access to rescued bats.

The lesson: Consider pairing a hands-on, limited-edition experience with a surprising health-linked statistic and live access to beneficiaries to drive coverage.
