Scam prevention framework rollout

Upcoming Event
Wednesday 31st March, 2027 The UK government is rolling out a mandatory Scams Prevention Framework that requires designated sectors — including banks, telecoms and major digital platforms — to prevent, detect, disrupt, respond to and report scams, with enforcement powers and penalties taking full effect from 31 March 2027. This gives Wise a clear role in the conversation because as a cross-border payments provider with UK and European customers it may be designated or impacted by the rules, and the framework presents a timely opportunity to explain how Wise’s fraud controls, dispute-resolution processes and customer protections align with the new mandatory standards.
Why have we flagged this?

Strong alignment — Wise is directly in scope as a cross-border payments provider and can credibly explain how its fraud controls, dispute-resolution and customer protections map to the new requirements, run proactive campaigns about customer safety, and offer expert comment as enforcement approaches.
