Find better B2B PR opportunities with our new audience features
1 Oct 2026 by Dave Peiris
We shipped a small, but incredibly useful, update this week.
If your PR client sells to other businesses, it's going to make Finchling even better at surfacing great opportunities.
B2B PR can work differently vs consumer PR, and you're usually looking for slightly different things. B2B brands might be interested when:
A new government regulation is announced, and the brand can explain what it means for the businesses it affects
A trade union publishes new research, and the brand can improve or add to the story with its own data
There's a world event, like an interest rate change, a cyber attack, or a supply chain disruption, and the brand can explain what it means for their customers
A tribunal or court ruling sets a precedent for employers, and a brand can explain the practical impact
For example - here's an opportunity for Xero, with a more B2B focus
These are often big, impactful stories, and whether it's expert comment, a reactive data story or your own research, the right response can land genuinely valuable coverage.
What's new
Tell us who you sell to. On your project settings page there's a new option: consumers, businesses, or both. Depending on what you choose, Finchling adjusts what it flags, how it talks about each opportunity, and the ideas it suggests.
Describe your ideal customer. Under advanced settings, if you've said that you sell to businesses, you can add your ideal customer profile. Something like "finance directors at UK mid-market manufacturers" or "heads of ecommerce at fast-growing UK DTC brands". It's optional, but the more specific you are, the better your opportunities get.
We hope you love it - head to your project settings and give it a go.
