Piccadilly line summer closures for new trains
Thursday 21st May, 2026
TfL will run weekend and some weekday closures on the Piccadilly line across summer and into autumn to upgrade infrastructure and test a new £3.4bn train fleet introducing air conditioning, longer trains and higher frequency from 2026–27. This gives Rightmove a chance to comment on how transport improvements affecting central and west London stations may influence local housing demand, commuter choices and rental markets in the UK.
Why have we flagged this?
Extended Piccadilly line closures will affect commutes and property desirability in affected areas — opportunity to share local search/sales data and advice for movers.
