Plastic packaging rises in EU

JRC finds plastic packaging in 19 EU countries grew 11% from 2011–2025, reaching 5.9 million tonnes (14 kg per person), while glass remains heaviest overall at 98 kg per capita.
This gives LEGO a chance to comment on plastic packaging and sustainable play in the EU and UK, linking product stewardship and circular packaging goals.
