Minecraft sequel renamed A Minecraft Movie Squared

The sequel to the hit Minecraft movie has been retitled A Minecraft Movie Squared, is in production with Jared Hess directing and Kirsten Dunst joining the cast, and is set for release on 23 July 2027; Warner Bros. and Legendary also launched a global design contest tied to the title reveal. This gives Lego a chance to talk about creativity, building and community — themes that link Minecraft’s block-based world to LEGO’s hands-on play, and to engage fans in the UK and worldwide around the film’s contest and cross‑media fan creativity.
