Los Angeles Unified School District tech use policy implementation
Tuesday 1st September, 2026
The LA Unified School District board has asked staff to create districtwide limits and guidelines on classroom screen time and use of school-issued devices, with ed‑tech contract reviews and grade-specific guardrails to be rolled out around the 2026–27 school year. This gives Lego a chance to be part of the conversation about balanced, hands-on learning and screen-free play as schools in the US reconsider digital time, especially relevant for district policymakers and parents in the US and similar debates in the UK and Europe.
Why have we flagged this?
Strong alignment: Lego can offer expertise and programmes on hands‑on, screen‑free learning, propose classroom resources or pilot partnerships, and comment as districts review ed‑tech contracts and screen‑time guardrails.
