Scam prevention framework rollout
Wednesday 31st March, 2027
The UK government is rolling out a mandatory Scams Prevention Framework that, from 31 March 2027, forces designated sectors like banks, telcos and major digital platforms to prevent, detect, disrupt, respond to and report scams, with enforcement powers and penalties. This gives Lego a chance to join the conversation about consumer safety and digital trust — especially in the UK and other markets where it operates — because as a major digital platform and seller with e-commerce, community features and young users it has a natural role in shaping scam-resilience and protecting families.
Why have we flagged this?
Strong alignment — Lego operates e-commerce, digital communities and products for children so it can credibly announce policies, safety tools, data-driven insights and partnerships to prevent scams and protect families, especially in the UK where the framework applies.
