Nationwide rollout of Ghana's Free Primary Health Care Initiative
Friday 1st January, 2027
Ghana’s Free Primary Health Care Initiative is a government plan to provide essential primary-care services free at the point of use, launched in April 2026 with phased roll‑out in selected districts and nationwide scale-up planned by 2027. This gives Lego a chance to comment on child health and play-based development in Ghana and West Africa, where improved primary care could change childhood wellbeing and access to educational play opportunities in communities and schools.
Why have we flagged this?
This directly touches child health and development—areas Lego can credibly comment on with thought leadership, partnerships or programmes linking play to wellbeing and school readiness in Ghana and West Africa; a well‑executed campaign or partnership with health/education NGOs could earn coverage and goodwill. Reactive spokespeople could also comment as rollout milestones occur.
