Mission North East and Mission Coastal launch (school programmes)
Tuesday 1st September, 2026
The UK government is launching Mission North East and Mission Coastal in September 2026, place-based school programmes offering classroom support, school-cluster working, mentoring, careers guidance and enrichment for disadvantaged pupils in the North East, Hastings and Scarborough. This gives Lego’s PR team a chance to talk about its role in educational play and skills development—especially in the UK regions affected—since the programmes seek partners and enrichment activities that align with creativity, STEM learning and careers pathways.
Why have we flagged this?
Strong alignment: Lego’s education and STEM credentials map neatly onto school enrichment, mentoring and careers pathways in these regions, and the programmes are actively seeking partners—giving Lego clear proactive (school workshops, teacher resources, regional partnerships) and reactive (comment on skills development) PR opportunities.
